Lupita Nyong’o Leaves Apple TV+ Crime Series Lady In The Lake

Lupita Nyong’o has dropped out of the upcoming Apple TV+ series, “Lady in the Lake,” based on the New York Times-bestselling crime novel by Laura Lippman. Nyong’o was set to costar opposite Natalie Portman, who is also executive producing the series, which is currently in production. In honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Netflix is boosting its accessibility features, including audio descriptions (AD) and subtitles for deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) people. As someone who developed tinnitus pretty young (who knows why, but also it was probably from concerts), I live in an all subtitles all of the time state of mind, but anything Netflix can do to make their content more accessible is not only worth it, it’s vital. “Bass Reeves” was originally a standalone limited series that was coming to Paramount+ with Taylor Sheridan, but it’s morphed a bit. Now, according to the MTV Entertainment Studios upfront presentation (via Deadline), it’s going to be a new chapter in the “Yellowstone” prequel “1883.” It’s an interesting move and one that I think is very positive.
