Anthony Hopkins in High-Tech Mystery Thriller ‘Zero Contact’ Trailer
“I always expected great things of this world…” Lionsgate has debuted another new trailer for the mystery thriller, wacky sci-fi project called Zero Contact, described as one of the very first NFT movies. We already wrote about this film last year, as they tried to release it on an NFT viewing platform (I don’t think anyone watched it). Zero Contact follows five characters all over the world, connected only by their devotion to the late founder and tech titan Finley Hart, played by Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins. Watch: Evolution Complete – ‘Endling’ A Sci-Fi Short Film About A.I.

Endling imagines exactly that kind of upcoming future, following two beings taking the remains of the last human to be buried. They drive an impressive classic Corvette, which the human used to own. It’s an intriguing, low key sci-fi film about A.I. in which they discuss the many flaws of humanity and how emotions rule us. Martin Challinor and Jasmin Hoinka star as the two A.I. beings. This isn’t the best short you’ll ever see, but it’s somewhat creative and makes you think about our place on this planet. Will we ever evolve beyond the human condition? Only time… [Read More...]

New Trailer for New Zealand Sci-Fi Fantasy Film ‘The Peacemakers’
“The fabric of the universe hangs by a very thin thread.” Wild Eye Releasing has unveiled the official US trailer for a wacky, homemade sci-fi comedy from New Zealand called The Peacemakers. This is actually made by a Russian filmmaker named Svyatoslav Nikitin, who doesn’t have any other credits of note before. In the film, two mysterious figures arrive on earth to hunt down a renegade and determine the fate of the planet. The tagline: “Saving the galaxy, one sh**hole at a time.” There’s some clever style with their outfits and a few impressive low budget VFX shots, but overall this seems a bit lackluster. Starring Noah Paul, Rick Didham, Kylah Carree, and Thomas MacKinnon. I’ll admit that everything about this makes me curious… [Read More...]
King of Kong Island (1968)
What you have to accept about King of Kong Island is that there’s no king, no Kong and no island. It started life with the title Eva, la Venere selvaggia (Eva, the Wild Venus). But don’t despair – it does contain lots of fine B-movie madness. It starts off with a mercenary named Burt who apparently doesn’t like guns (there’s a prologue which kind of explains this) and he’s in Nairobi looking up some old cronies. They’re a disreputable lot. There’s a glamorous dame named Ursula with whom Burt has a history. She seems like a very disreputable and very dangerous dame. There’s also a younger woman, Diana. She has a brother, Robert. Robert and Diana are planning a hunting expedition. They’re after the sacred monkeys.Unfortunately … [Read More...]

The Living Dead Girl (1982)
The Living Dead Girl (La morte vivante) is the third and final film in what could be described as Jean Rollin’s zombie trilogy. Yes I know that technically he made four zombie movies but I don’t count Zombie Lake. He was merely a hired gun on that picture, it was not one of his personal films and his interest in the project didn’t extend much further than a desire for a badly needed pay cheque. I think it’s therefore fair to speak of his zombie trilogy – The Grapes of Death (1978), The Night of the Hunted (1980) and The Living Dead Girl (1982). What these three movies have in common is an unconventional approach to the zombie movie sub-genre. They’re unconventional both thematically, … [Read More...]
